The Cadillac CT6 is yet another well-rounded entry from Cadillac. It’s high scoring performance and engine capability, yet unremarkable interior place it in about the middle of this classes pack.

Strong entry for Luxury performance, the Cadillac edition boasts an energetic and wide range in the engine lineup. Even though early reviews on handling have been nothing to write home about, the CT6’s power and versatility is.

Ranging from the competitive 237 horsepower, 2.0-Liter turbo-charged, four-cylinder base CT6 engine, to a recently announced “high performance” model, which handles an incredible 550 horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

Complimenting that power and diversity, are fairly strong, and consistently above average for the class fuel economy returns. With 24 mpg in the city, and an impressive 34 mpg on the highway, this puts the CT6 at one of the best spots in the class for the economy.

So the CT6 is a strong entry for under the hood, and that would help place it near the top of the class, if not for a not so impressive interior showing. The underwhelming interior consists of a mixed bag quality of flimsy knobs and dials, and visibly lower quality textures and materials in comparison to most Luxury competitors. Enough of the requisite textures to enter it into the Luxury class, but it won’t be anything for many to write home about.

As far as interiors go the visual may not meet everyone’s standards, but cargo space is a competitive number. With 15.8 cubic feet of storage, the CT6 remains practical and competitive.

A final glance around the interior will lead you to a finicky infotainment system yet to be fully defined by the manufacturers. Although the menus can be difficult to navigate, the other tech amenities of the CT6 are thoughtful and intuitive. Audio takes an impressive priority with 10-34 Bose speaker surround system. The front control screen is a 10.2 touch screen, and is complement with rear seat screens, for the passengers in the back to enjoy some HD visual entertainment.

Safety estimates by the Nation Highway Traffic and Safety Administration and general reliability from J.D. Power have not been published, and will not be noted here.

That’s not to say this model isn’t ripe with safety features. Including a very impressive Cadillac Super Cruise Technology system that is classified as a Level-2 Automation, that works off of roughly 130,000 miles of mapped highways. Boasting an impressive amount of lane cohesion and speed management. As far as impressive safety features though, that is the top of the list. As the other features such as parking and collision sensors are fairly standard to the class.

Overall, the 2020 Cadillac CT6 is a fine entry to the class, with a below-class-average price tag of $50,000 base price. A worthy consideration if Luxury class performance is your style. Although leaving a little to be desired in interior opulence, the CT6 meets high Cadillac performance standards impressively enough.
